Cake Boss Giveaway!

Pumpkin Spice Cake and Cake Boss Giveaway from StirringThingsUpBlog.com @kristelpoole

My icing drooped because the kitchen got a little hot. Next time I’ll definitely use a firmer icing!

Guess what? It’s giveaway day! But first…let’s talk about fall.

We’ve had the windows open for five nights and the cool breeze is drifting in now that autumn is officially here. I love being able to put on a sweatshirt with pajama pants or slip on a chunky sweater and boots. Along with cozy clothing comes hot tea and toasty morning coffee, and while some people are fighting each other in line for the next pumpkin spice latte, I’d rather pass on the flavored drinks and head straight for the food. Pies, canned fruit butters, warm English muffins with melting butter, and spiced cakes. I love these fall flavors and they seem to pop up at just the right time. It’s like the cravings for these things are hard-wired into our brains, isn’t it? When the first cold breeze comes through, someone bring me pumpkin spice cake and a hot coffee!

  4. Cake Boss is a great show! That cake makes me want a bite right now lol The weather in New England is just perfect for baking Fall cakes and cookies. We have been lucky with Sunny days and cool nights gotta love the Fall when it’s going like this. Thanks for the chance

  5. That cake looks amazing!Fall is the perfect time for baking and since it is getting cooler here I am getting the urge to bake some sweet treats!

  6. Oh that pumpkin spice cake sounds so amazing and would make a great cupcake recipe as well !! I can’t wait for you to post the recipe. As far as the icing, I know in the warmer months if I am icing cupcakes and my icing gets a little runny I will place it in the fridge or freezer just to firm it up a bit so I can control my design better. I would love to win this icing decorating kit, as all those tips look like lots of fun to play with :)

    • Believe it or not, I put my icing in the fridge. (It wasn’t cooperating, obviously!) I was/am still grumpy about my design, but I’m going to do it again. I want to perfect the cake and icing recipes; I’d totally thought about making cupcakes with it so maybe I’ll do that next! Thanks for visiting!
